It’s the Non-NoWriMo Home Stretch! Thanks to all who stopped by to check out my paintings. I know this made up event made no sense to anyone (even those who know what NaNoWriMo is) but I appreciate you all just going with it. I needed to set a project for myself and to post more to my site. Done and done.
Now onto today’s piece. I circled back (PUN INTENDED) to the overlapping, textured circles. First one of its kind is here. (Click for the painting. Stay for the riveting saga of David Bowie socks.) Anyway, today’s multi-colored overlappers is slightly different as it is on a chunky canvas. Some of the circles spilled over to the sides. Not always easy to paint over edges but hey, challenge accepted.
I watched The Black Panther again while working on this. Besides the “Don’t scare me like that, Colonizer” line of Shuri’s, I love what Michael B. Jordan says about the mask in the museum before he takes it: “I was just feelin’ it.” I’m going to use that as the justification for every decision I make. Mandy, why did you use that color as the background? I was just feelin’ it.
